Indian Head Massage is part of the Ayurvedic tradition of holistic therapy and is over 4000 years old. Throughout this time and even today the traditional Indian Head Massage has been part of Indian daily life, shared between family members and even available at the local barber. Indian Head Massage is an extremely safe and effective therapy, which is suitable for most people.  As the first step is to promote relaxation Indian Head Massage is a wonderfully relaxing and calming treatment.

Before receiving your first Indian Head Massage I will undertake a confidential, full medical and lifestyle consultation with you.  This is designed to help me understand what you would like me to treat and to help me develop a comprehensive treatment plan tailored to your unique needs.  Allow an hour for your initial treatment and consultation.

For an Indian Head Massage you are seated whilst I massage your upper back, shoulders, neck, upper arms, scalp and face.  Alternatively you may choose any combination of these.  For example some clients prefer me to spend longer massaging their back and not their face.  Additionally you may choose to be massaged using oil, which can have therapeutic benefits for your skin and hair, and even warm and relax your muscles further.  We can discuss your requirements before starting the treatment.

At the end of the treatment I give you feedback about the treatment, my findings and any after care to support your continued healing.

I always start subsequent treatments by finding out how you have felt since the previous treatment and by making any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan.

One of the most frequently asked questions is “How many treatments do I need?”  Depending on what we are treating and our agreed treatment plan I usually recommend a course of three or four weekly treatments to kick start an improvement in symptoms and thereafter a maintenance programme of treatment every month or 6 weeks.

A typical appointment will last up to 60 minutes, including 30 mins of massage, a consultation prior to massage and feedback / recommendations afterwards. Price £30.
